So if you are good at carpentry or sewing you might be able to make a business out those types of skill sets. The more custom the work you can do the better. Just remember that most people are willing to pay for something that they cannot do themselves. So, if you have a talent that most people don’t have, they would be willing to pay more for these types of things.
There are usually all types of craft fairs, flea markets, and even trade shows that happen all over the country so there is a good chance that there may be something like this in your area. Make sure to check local bulletin boards and the internet to find out dates and locations for these types of events. Wouldn’t it be great to have a table or booth at one of these shows and have people drooling and purchasing stuff that you made? Always try to be creative when trying to maximize your earnings. A good example of this is to offer gift wrapping services with your products for a small fee.
There are many ways to get financial help as a single parent. Some of these techniques may not be as straight forward as filling out some paperwork but, these techniques can turn into a sustainable income with some creativity and some hard work.
